Frequently asked questions
Is Deduce free?
Yes — completely free. You get one new puzzle per difficulty every day at no cost.
Which exams does Deduce help with?
It’s built for the logical-reasoning section of Indian competitive exams — especially banking (IBPS PO & Clerk, SBI PO & Clerk, RRB) and SSC (CGL, CHSL), with UPSC CSAT and State PSC on the roadmap. Pick the exam you’re preparing for when you start and the daily tunes its framing to it.
Is Deduce only seating-arrangement puzzles?
No — Deduce has 27 reasoning kinds, and the daily rotates through all of them: eight arrangement families you solve on an interactive board (floor, circular, row, double-row, order & ranking, scheduling, box and square seating) plus nineteen exam-pattern MCQ kinds (data sufficiency on floor and ranking, syllogism, coded inequality, coding-decoding, blood relations, classification, number series, alphabet test, alphanumeric series, machine input-output, direction & distance, uncertain persons, eligibility and more), all on the same validated single-solution engine. Pick your exam at sign-up (changeable anytime in Settings) and the daily tunes its topic mix and leaderboard to it — banking gets puzzle-heavy days, SSC/Railway get coding/series-heavy days, UPSC gets arrangements + DS.
How is this different from Testbook, Smartkeeda or BYJU’S?
Those are question banks and courses — great for learning theory. Deduce is a daily habit: a fresh, server-checked, single-solution reasoning puzzle every day with a streak and leaderboard. You can’t cram the answer — you build the skill. Use both.
Will it actually help my exam?
We target the section you lose the most marks on first (banking: puzzles + data sufficiency), with a step-by-step solution after every round and difficulty that adapts. It’s exam-pattern reasoning, daily, in about five minutes — built for the consistency that cracks reasoning.
Do you cover quantitative aptitude / maths?
Not in Deduce — this is the reasoning daily. Quant has its own daily from the same team: ComputePrep, a free timed drill across 21 quant kinds — vedic-maths shortcuts plus percentages, DI, quadratic comparison, profit & loss, time & work, P&C and probability. Deduce trains reasoning accuracy; ComputePrep trains calculation speed against a clock. Most aspirants run both dailies back to back in about ten minutes.
Do you cover non-verbal / figure-based reasoning?
Not yet — those are image-based and we only ship puzzles we can validate to a single solution. We focus where a fresh daily puzzle beats a static bank; non-verbal practice is better served by a question bank for now. We’d rather be honest than overclaim.
What kind of puzzle is it?
Each puzzle gives you people, a set of positions (such as floors of a building), and clues. You deduce the single arrangement that satisfies every clue. Every puzzle is validated to have exactly one solution before it’s served.
How do difficulty levels work?
Three ranked puzzles each day — Easy, Medium and Hard — and you can play one of each. Higher levels use more people and floors, so there’s more to eliminate before the unique answer.
How do streaks and the leaderboard work?
Solve the daily puzzle to extend your streak; miss a day and it resets. Your time and score are validated on the server, so the leaderboard ranks real solving. Sign in with Google to keep your streak across devices.
How many attempts do I get?
Three attempts on arrangement (board) puzzles — after a wrong submission you’re told how many clues your arrangement violated, so you can fix it. MCQ puzzles are one attempt: pick carefully, like the real exam.
Can I install Deduce on my phone?
Yes — it’s a Progressive Web App. Open it in your mobile browser and choose “Add to Home Screen” to install it like an app, no app store needed.
Do I need to create an account?
No. Start playing immediately without signing up. Google sign-in is optional and only saves your streak across devices.
